Heroes for the Planet

2020

In 2015 I launched the Kakuma Project in which we started to offer free quality education to young refugees. Many teachers joined the effort and started to teach through Skype. After 1 year we had a community of hundreds of educators across 60 countries.
In 2020 I spoke with Belgian architects from DMOA in Leuven. Together we decided to build 2 Maggie schools in Kakuma which are carbon neutral and have 100 laptops. The schools would allow us to scale up our activities. The event was covered by a Hollywood crew and was turned into an episode of the documentary "Heroes for the Planet". (IMDB).
. The documentary was created by Kief Davidson, an Academy Award® and Emmy nominated director. The episode was aired on May 1 2023.
